Membership Nomination Process
-
The Phi Tau Sigma Membership Qualifications & Evaluations Committee is responsible for reviewing all nomination submissions. Once the committee is satisfied with their evaluation, they recommend the nominees to the Executive Committee for induction into Phi Tau Sigma. This process can take approximately 30 days. The process may be extended if the nomination needs to be revised.
-
Members can be nominated as either a student or professional member.
-
The online Nomination can be submitted by either the nominee or one of the nominators.
-
Once the required information is collected via the Nomination Form Information document, click on "Begin Nomination" to enter the required information.
-
Nominees must be nominated by two Phi Tau Sigma members in good standing. Both student and professional nominees should be studying or working in food science and technology or allied fields.
-
The mandatory, non-refundable nomination fee ($20 for students and $40 for professionals) must be paid prior to the review by the committee. The fee can be paid by either one of the nominators or the nominee. If approved for membership, the fee will be applied to the cost of the nominee’s first year membership dues.
