Peter M. Salmon, M.S., M.B.A. (Candidate for Director)
Peter M. Salmon, M.S., M.B.A. is a Lifetime Member of Phi Tau Sigma who has enjoyed a long career in food safety and product development. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Food Science from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and his M.B.A. with dual concentrations in Marketing & Finance from the Gabelli School of Management at Fordham University – New York City. He worked for Cains Foods, General Mills and Kraft/General Foods in QA and R&D. He later founded International Food Network Inc as a contract technology company serving the international food, beverage and nutrition industries and he owned/managed it for 30 years before his retirement.
He is a Certified Food Scientist, a Certified Packaging Professional, a Fellow of IFT and a Fellow of the IFST. He has extensive experience serving on Boards, both corporate and nonprofit.
Peter presently lives with his wife, Paulette, in Naples Florida and they have a summer home on Cayuga Lake in Ithaca New York. Peter remains active in the industry, mostly on a volunteer basis.
Vision for ΦΤΣ: I have been a member of Phi Tau Sigma for many years now and I have always been very impressed with the quality of the organization and its members. Year after year our Society attracts students who are extremely talented and dedicated, individuals who go on to elevate the profile of our profession. I look forward to supporting Phi Tau Sigma as it continues to evolve, providing opportunities for students to network with professionals, and as it continues to solidify its financial footing, furthering its ability to recognize and reward outstanding achievement in our industry. I was honored to be nominated to serve on the Board of Directors and if I am elected it will be my great honor to serve, advancing the mission and vision of the organization at the leadership level.
